In the year 1987, Jeppiaar Educational Trust was founded in order to promote the technical education in the state of Tamil Nadu, and started Sathyabama Engineering College. Right from inception,this institute has become synonymous with strict discipline and academic excellence. This is made possible by close supervision, constant watch, excellent coaching, taking care of backward students as well as honing up the tallents of the very bright students who are expected to be the topmost rankers of the university. Every year, on an average one third of the students get placement and the placement record is very bright. Students also go for higher studies in india and abroad. This is the only college of its kind, which has an evaluation of teachers by the students in order to assess the effectiveness of teaching. Meritorious teachers are given Best Teachers Awards.
